Ever had a panoramic experience of London? Perched up on the 28th floor of the Park Lane Hilton, Galvin at Windows is the ultimate spot to slink into a soft sofa and overlook the city’s glittering skyline. The bar is a slick art deco space with gold, green and grey touches. And while you come for the views, you’ll come back for the service. The staff seamlessly guide you through your evening, and will make you feel right at home in this most decadent of settings.

The drinks come at a high price, but with these views you might just forget to care. The heavy menu may be Bible-reminiscent, but is divided up by flavour to help you navigate. First up is gin: 22 varieties, lots of small brands, and all creative serves of the classic G+T (pick your poison, they’re all tasty). Then for cocktails head to a section, choose between Light and Easy, From the Old Barrel, Sweet and Full-Bodied, The Sparkling Side of Things, or Innocent but with Soul. We had a go at the Galvin Affairs — because why wouldn’t we? A hard shake of Olmeca Altos Tequila and Bowmore 15y/o Whisky with lemon, rosemary and raspberries. It’s fresh, tart and a balance of sweet and smoky.

The short menu of nibbles will likely entice you into a full meal at the Michelin-starred restaurant. And with lunch deals like £29 for three courses and a glass of bubbles … can you really resist?

Best Bars tip: Come in the afternoon and grab a seat by the window, then watch the city light up as the sun goes down.
