Situated under the atmospheric Hoxton railway arches, Beagle is a cafe-restaurant-bar that will tick all your boxes. You can while away the hours on the alfresco terrace, and once the sun sets head in for hearty seasonal fare in a casual yet soaring industrial space.
The drinks are just as seasonal as the food and you’ve got access to the whole menu in the bar too. For a signature cocktail, try the Silver Fox with gin, vermouth, sherry, Lillet, orange and lavender — fresh, balanced and straight-up with just a hint of floral sweetness. The food is simple but full-flavoured, like the grilled lamb ribs with wild garlic or the duck fat chips (we can never resist).
This is the type of spot where you can bring anyone along — from an early days’ date to dinner with mum to long lunches with the ladies to after-work beers … it’s an all-inclusive ambience, and that’s how we like it.
Best Bars tip: Come here early to snag a spot on the south-facing terrace and order yourself some of the cured meat sticks — easy to nibble, utterly delicious.
