It might be one of London’s teeniest charms, but what Casita lacks in square footage it makes up for in personality. This is the kind of bar you pop into for a quick one and then end up cancelling all of your plans (happily so).
For drinks, order a few shots of tequila con verdita (a shot of tequila followed by a shot with pineapple, coriander, mint and chilli) — they’ll go down smoother than you’d ever imagine. But if you want to throw back at a slower pace, order one of the cocktails off the board. We love a Tommy’s Margarita — it’s like the classic but made with agave rather than sugar and is served on the rocks.
No bookings, no tables, just arrive early and pull up a seat at the bar then wait for the crowd to form round you as the night wears on. Casita means “small house” and there’s nowhere better to make your home away from home.
Best Bars tip: Say hi to whoever is behind the stick (we advise making him/her your best pal for the night — they’ll often know everyone who comes through the door and will be happy to introduce).
