Step through the wardrobe and head upstairs to the wonderful world that is the Imaginarium. This pop-up event at Callooh Callay is hosted by Duck & Waffle’s Rich Woods, the UK winner of Bombay Sapphire’s 2014 World’s Most Imaginative Bartender Competition, as well as Bombay Sapphire’s UK brand ambassador Sean Ware. So you can expect all things weird and wonderful here.
Drinks range from classic G&Ts to more adventurous concoctions like the Blue Cheese and Chocolate Martini — a deceivingly light and clear cocktail with a fragrant nose of chocolate and a round mouthfeel from the blue cheese. Or you can try the Essence of Mary, Rich’s take on the Bloody Mary made with his own consommé — again, it’s a lot lighter than you’d ever imagine. Then there’s the Mind Your Peas and Q’s, a garden fresh version of the traditional G&T with pea-infused gin served on a tray with chocolate soil. Yum.
If you can make it down before the Imaginarium disappears, we highly recommend it. Come with an open mind and a thirsty belly.
