You’ll want a seat by one of the Whiski Rooms’ windows. Situated on The Mound, it lets you soak in the impressive view of the city whilst you drink, dine and even shop. Split over three levels, it’s comprised of The Whisky Bar with 300 drams in stock to try, a spacious dining area serving Scottish cuisine to one side of it, and the shop to the other.
Grab a table in the restaurant or café and get comfortable – they serve an Ardbeg-based set menu that includes haggis spring rolls, slow roast smoked pork belly, a crème brûlée and more, as well as other dishes. We recommend the mouth-watering Chateaubriand designed for two hungry mouths. Pair that with the barrel-aged, sherry-finished Rob Roy and you’ll be glad you made the short walk up the hill.
Being situated in the centre of Edinburgh’s Old Town, it attracts a lot of welcome visitors year round. Planning on bringing the whole gang? Book ahead (especially at peak times).
Best Bars tip: Ever wondered what type of whisky you’ll like? Ask the team of experts who will use your preferred flavours and style as a guide to recommending you the dram of your dreams.
