Carom Soho

The Glasshouse at Carom Soho

Carom Soho foodWhen London chucks down its less than desirable weather (as it so often does), instead of feeling miserable – get yourself down to Carom in Soho. With sunny lamps strewn about the glass-covered terrace, you can kick back in a swinging chair and laugh off the rain while throwing down a few drinks.

The food is traditional south Indian fare — flavourful, filling, well executed and well priced. We’re partial to the chicken lollipops (don’t worry, they’re savoury not sweet) and the spicy shalgam lamb curry. And if it’s the booze you’re after, there’s a long list to choose from. Ordered some hot treats? Then pair it up with an Indian Colada — Amrut Indian whiskey, coconut rum, pineapple juice, cinnamon syrup and Indian yogurt. Sounds bizarre, but is sure to cool off the taste buds. Or for something more herbaceous, taste the Mediterranean Sensation with fresh basil and bourbon.

If you want bang for your buck drinks, nip in from 4pm-6:30pm and have a few classics for £5. Belly grumbling? Get three tapas plates and a glass of bubbly for £15. BOOM.

Best Bars tip: Rain or shine, you can get that alfresco experience.
