This huge boozer is always full of City folk enjoying a few drinks after work — and no wonder. With a sophisticated but inviting interior and a tempting menu, Abbey has all the marks of a classy crowd pleaser.
There’s a healthy selection of booze on offer, with all the classics of a pub plus a welcome few refreshing cocktails. Try the Ruby Rouge for a fruity fizz, or a Spiced Pear Mojito if it’s a little cold outside. Pass around plates of moreish mini-sliders on a Friday evening, or meet up for a business lunch — they have a list of seasonal specials that change weekly.
Abbey’s a real all-rounder. From a date to wink at in the long and elegant backbar mirror, an early evening with your mates in the pad or a long night in its downstairs club-like area, its versatility makes its success an easy one.
Best Bars tip: There’s a live band on Thursday nights, and Fridays see a DJ take over with the best tunes from the 70s to today.
