Ready to step it up a notch from pint lifting to more energetic varieties of boozy sports? Then alcoholic playground Roxy Ball Room is the destination for you. Pool, table tennis and the soon-to-be Olympic-qualifying art of beer pong (well here’s hoping) await you in this bright and spacious city centre bar.
Reflective of the venue, the drinks menu is pure fun. The long cocktail list consists of humorous twists on classics, featuring the likes of the Pingstar Martini, Mojito Served Straight and Balls Deep In Chocolate. Sharing pitchers are also available so get in the spirit with the Caipbeerihnia, a mixture of Caçhaca, lime and mint topped off with craft IPA. As expected, the bar has a large offering of American lagers to fuel beer-based games and if you work up an appetite, tuck into tempting American-style bar snacks (3 plates for a tenner) and sharing platters.
Set to a backdrop of indie classics and feel-good tunes, this is a fun-time venue that attracts a diverse and lively crowd for pre-drinks, parties or less conventional date nights.
Best Bars tip: If you don’t want to reveal your world-class beer pong skills to the public, you can hire the bar’s private area, which is fully kitted-out with games tables and additional perks like city views, stocked fridges and optional buffet-dining.
