Sitting within a Spinningfields tower, lies one of Manchester’s best spots to drink with a view. Up on level 12 you’ll find the Manchester House lounge, where you can park up in a bar-side booth or sit by the window as the sun sets. For those truly sunny days, buddy up to the smokers on the leafy terrace.
The cocktail menu is essentially a novel, with a few variations on all of the classics. So we say, think of your favourite drink and then try a twist on it. If it’s a bit too overwhelming for you, sidle up to the bartender and ask for advice — they’ll be more than willing to steer you in the right direction.
Expect to see the city’s elite dolled up in their finer digs, as well as anyone else who appreciates an eyeful of skyline. And if the weather is a bit grey, then there’s plenty to ogle over inside: the décor is simply divine … each lighting fixture and flooring panel carefully chosen to amplify the setting.
Best Bars tip: Don’t forget to book into the Manchester House restaurant (you may have seen it on Restaurant Wars, no biggie). Impeccably plated food that tastes as good as it looks.
